Time to get cosy

After the deluge of the last few days I hope you can find time to get out into today's glorious sunshine.

And what do you have planned for the colder months? How will you find cosiness to snuggle into?

Reiki Level One Workshop

Have you considered training in Reiki? I completed my level one Reiki training in 2012 and it was this that led to my journey of bodywork.

I run Reiki workshops by request and my next level one Reiki workshop is next Thursday 24 October. I have space on this session and if you feel drawn to Reiki or you would you like to develop your own abilities and take your first Reiki attunement then I encourage you to take this journey with me.

The first level will teach you the history of Reiki and the principles of the therapy and during the course of the day you will learn to carry out a self healing and also how to give Reiki to others. At the end of this day you will be able to carry out Reiki on yourself and offer it to family and friends.

This workshop takes place at my home in Preston, Weymouth and runs from 9:30am until around 4:30pm. Reiki is a beautiful therapy and you can incorporate it into many aspects of your life to encourage relaxation and healing.

A certificate and manual is included, as is lunch and refreshments.

If you are interested but you cannot make next week's date, just drop me a line as I have a few more people who would like a date scheduled.

Winter Solstice Vision Boarding

I always love offering my Winter Solstice event and it is such a lovely afternoon of cosiness and creativity.

The winter solstice celebrates the beginning of Winter and acknowledges the shortest day of the year. ​This mini-retreat is an opportunity to gather at a time when life can become frantic. If you would like to spend time with friends during this period this is a lovely way to do that, or to offer it as a gift for someone.

We begin with a yin and flow yoga practice followed by snacks and tea or mulled wine (non-alcoholic option too). We then settle to creating visions boards to manifest our goals or vision for the year to come. And your vision board will be yours to take home with you.

I recently put out an appeal on Facebook for magazines for our vision boarding so I have piles of lovely shiny, colourful magazines for this. Everything is provided for you: magazines, glue, scissors, stickers, glitter, A3 and A5 frames. And you may want to bring your own photos, pictures, mementos to include in your board.

There are two dates on offer for this: Friday 20 and Sunday 29 December and we will gather from 2-4pm.

A Winter Solstice dip?

This year I had the most glorious Summer Solstice, starting with sun salutations to the rising sun at an unreasonable 4am with a lovely mad friend.

So why not do this for December too? If you're interested in joining me on Saturday 21 December at 7:30am we may begin with a bit of standing yoga to warm us up before heading into the water ready to greet the sun as it rises at around 8:08am. Hot drinks and nibbles after.

Cosy yoga in my studio

With the evenings getting dark so quickly, the infra red heating in my studio is creating a cosy atmosphere. Infra red gently warms the body from the inside and you can feel the cosiness as soon as you enter the room.

So if you feel it's too cold to head out for an evening yoga session, or you'd rather stay in bed on a Sunday morning, remember that my space really is so welcoming for you.

Yin yoga in particular is glorious in the colder months as the practice encourages us to journey inward. There is space on this evening's class.

And my therapy room remains a cosy place for you to find your centre too. I am an experienced therapist qualified in a wide range of massage approaches to keep you feeling at your peak and nurtured. Feel free to book a free 15 minute consultation to have a chat about what might suit you best.

Somatic and mindful movement

When I write next I'll be telling you about my Somatic and Mindful Movement sessions that I will soon be including into my schedule. With somatic work we encourage the body to shake off restrictions by creating fluid and free form movement to release tension and the effects of long held chronic stress and trauma.

If you're interested drop me line to let me know what days and times would suit you. Class sizes will be limited to just 4.

Flow yoga, followed by learning to do a mala meditation (gem stone mala included for you to take home). Finishing with yin yoga where Reiki is offered during long held poses.
